Professional Development

Thank you for visiting the Website of Maureen E. Kilty, Ed.D.
My goal is to bring the world closer together through teaching languages and culture. My class rosters have included English Language Learners from over 50 countries. It is both a pleasure and a privilege to be working in the field of language acquisition. My background includes an Illinois elementary certificate, a secondary certificate, an ESL/Spanish-English bilingual endorsement and a type 75 administrative certificate. My doctorate, earned in 2007, is from Loyola University Chicago (Dissertation title: “Hispanic Achievement and Attainment: Outreach to Hispanic Parents and Students”). I have 25 plus years experience teaching Spanish, as well as ESL, at a variety of levels: K-12, adult, community college and four year university. I have taught English as a foreign language in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Spain and the United States.
